Prayers is about what we have in common.
As a lifetime student of various religions and spiritual practices, I have come to realize that the spiritual foundations of the world’s significant religions reflect the same simple and universal themes.
Whatever your beliefs, with just a little effort one quickly discovers that we are more alike than we are different, especially in matters of the spirit. Prayers looks for those commonalities.
Using the close up and intimate techniques from my Artifacts work, the Prayers project explores symbols and objects from many different religious traditions and practices. While some images are unique to a particular practice, usually a single image will connect with many different traditions.
Prayers is an ongoing project. I expect several more years of work before it will get a public viewing, though I am happy to share my progress with intersted individuals.
